Red Bull’s Max Verstappen grabbed his sixth pole position of the season at the Mexico City Grand Prix by putting together a rapid final qualifying run to pull clear of the Mercedes drivers.
With little to separate the front-runners after Q2 and the first Q3 runs, Verstappen went on to deliver a 1m 17.775s with his final effort – putting him three-tenths ahead of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
